Jenna Meriggi, DO

Why did you choose UPMC residency program?
Throughout my rotations in medical school, I found PM&R to be the most rewarding specialty in medicine. Patients come to you during their most vulnerable moments with varying degrees of disabilities and it is gratifying to be part of helping them regain their function and quality of life. PM&R combines the most cognitively challenging aspects of my favorite fields in medicine, especially the musculoskeletal system, and I would like to utilize my training as a physiatrist in conjunction with my osteopathic manipulative medicine skills to ameliorate my patients lives.

During the interview process, I was looking for a broad based training environment that spans the entire gamut of PM&R so that by the completion of my residency I would feel confident to practice in any type of clinical setting. UPMC offers this full spectrum of training in the context of an exceptionally scholarly environment, making it the ideal place for me.
