David Stone, MD

Biography
David Stone, MD is an assistant professor and a faculty member of the Sports Medicine Fellowship. He co-authored the second edition of Sports Injuries, a comprehensive textbook on sports medicine.

Dr. Stone is a premiere clinician in the field of sports medicine and has worked in professional and collegiate sports and the performing arts throughout his career. He was team physician for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers (1990-2010) and for Point Park University's Athletics Department and dance program (2010-2014). He was a medical consultant for the New York Giants (1988-1990) and held the position of company physician for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre from 1993 to 2010. Dr. Stone is an expert in chronic compartment syndrome, a condition affecting many athletes and performing artists, providing compartment pressure tests across the UPMC system.
